A great and eventful year 2019 lies behind us. But the time for reminiscing is over – after all, there is so much to do that inspires us! That’s why we at Nunatak look ahead and welcome the new decade with waving flags and popping corks. In an interview, five Nunatakeers give their personal outlook on the most exciting topic that will be coming up at Nunatak in 2020 and their highlights in the new year.

Svenja Grossmann, Consultant:

My most exciting topic for 2020:

A central topic in the media industry in 2020 will be how publishers can best position themselves in the context of digital marketing in the best possible and future-proof way. We are already supporting a number of customers who want to increasingly automate their marketing. In this context, we will, for example, address questions such as how media companies can best position themselves internally, how the role of marketers and media agencies will change, and what happens when the cookie actually disappears. These will continue to be very exciting topics in 2020.

My personal highlight:

I am looking forward to experiencing the Online Marketing Rockstars up close in 2020. In recent years, this conference has developed into the industry event in digital marketing and, in addition to networking, it naturally also provides an opportunity to discuss the most important trends and developments in digital marketing in a condensed form.

And of course I hope that we can continue this year’s highlight – our Lisbon offsite – and have another similarly cool team experience together next year.

Romy Häßelbarth, Executive Assistant:

My most exciting topic for 2020:

I am very excited about how the back-office team will grow and develop in the coming year. With the size Nunatak has reached in the last few years, a functioning and well-positioned team in administration is essential, and there will certainly be changes here in 2020. I find it exciting to be a part of this and to be able to influence this development.

My personal highlight:

I look forward to getting to know my colleagues better during joint activities outside the office. At Nunatak, relationships between employees go beyond a normal at-work relationship. A spirit of friendly togetherness is what makes Nunatak special, and this is especially noticeable in activities that take place after work.

Jérôme Nonnenmacher, Principal:

My most exciting topic for 2020:

In the coming year we can expect many new developments in the mobility sector – and we will definitely see a massive marketing push for e-cars. Manufacturers such as nio, Tesla and Byton are pushing into the market with new, innovative models, and I am curious to see who occupies which niche.

In addition, there are new e-scooter regulations in Germany, based on the experience of 2019, and there is also an increasing consolidation of the market. So there is no question that the topic of new mobility will continue to occupy us in the new year.

Jan-Henning Jestädt, Senior Consultant:

My most exciting topic for 2020:

What will be particularly exciting is how companies will be able to make the success of innovation initiatives measurable for the entire organization in the future. Numerous innovation programs have been in place for several years now. And, of course, everyone wants to see quantifiable success – which is not so easy, especially when it comes to changes in corporate culture.

In this context, “upskilling” of employees and thus change management will become more important than ever in 2020. After all, the speed of change is increasing rather than decreasing.

My personal highlight:

In 2020 we have again planned numerous academies and conferences, which I am very much looking forward to. I’m glad to be able to further promote the topics of innovation and innovation capability as an important part of our work with customers. Because one thing is clear: constant innovation remains relevant and essential in all areas of industry.

Manuel Keller, Project Lead:

My most exciting topic for 2020:

From a banking perspective, 2020 will be another exciting year. With costs and consolidation pressures remaining high, it remains to be seen which banks will be bold enough to continue to focus on growth and innovation issues despite the difficult environment. In our view, this is of course urgently necessary, especially in the current climate.

My personal highlight:

In short: I am looking forward to our 2020 team events – they are always special highlights in the Nunatak year!
